David started investing at 11 years old when he asked his father, Don, if he could invest cash gifts that he received at a birthday party. His first investment was in Getty Oil, which split soon after to form Getty Realty Corp and Getty Petroleum Marketing Inc. As a result, David’s initial investment nearly doubled in value.*
While still in college, David worked for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network as a financial representative, learning about life insurance. He then worked for Wells Fargo Financial as a Credit Manager, helping families get back on their feet in the aftermath of the Financial Crises.
The Financial Crises occurred during his junior year at SUNY Purchase, and David used the experience as the basis for his Senior Thesis. After graduating Cum Laude with a degree in Business Economics, David took the opportunity to work at the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics as a Field Economist. He worked in the International Price Program meeting with companies throughout the Northeast to sample data for the US Import and Export Indexes, two leading U.S. economic indicators. In 2011, he resigned from the Bureau to work with his father Don as a financial and tax advisor. He specializes in financial planning and asset management, and uses his knowledge of taxes and economics to efficiently manage clients’ portfolios. David is an avid reader in economics, business, technology, and American History. His hobbies include skiing and fitness, and he is Board Member of Special Kids of NY and a member of the Young Adults Group at Blessed Sacrament in New York, NY. Dave resides in the Greenwich, CT with his wife Jeanette.
